IOCL Pipeline Division Recruitment 2024: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is inviting eligible Indian nationals to meet the following qualifications and other parameters for the engagement of around 473 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended from time to time) in the trades. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released an official advertisement notification for the recruitment of 473 Apprentices.   • Age limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as of January 12, 2024, which is the date for reckoning any eligibility criteria.
  • Stipend: The rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and the corporation’s guidelines.

Qualification Eligibility Criteria

1. Trade/Discipline: Technician Apprentice (Mechanical)

Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one-year duration/10+2) full-time diploma in any of the following disciplines of engineering from a government-recognized institute or university: (i) Mechanical Engineering; (ii) Automobile Engineering.

2. Trade/Discipline: Technician Apprentice (Electrical)

Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one-year duration/10+2) full-time diploma in any of the following disciplines of engineering from a government-recognized institute or university: (i) Electrical Engineering; (ii) Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

3. Trade/Discipline: Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation)

Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one-year duration/10+2) full-time diploma in any of the following disciplines of engineering from a government-recognized institute or university: (i) Electronics & Communication Engineering; (ii) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering; (iii) Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering; (iv) Instrumentation & Control Engineering; (v) Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering; (vi) Electronics Engineering.

4. Trade/Discipline: Trade Apprentice (Assistant Human Resource)

Full-time bachelor’s degree (graduation) from a government-recognized institute or university.

5. Trade/Discipline: Trade Apprentice (Accountant)

Full-time Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in Commerce from a government-recognized institute or university.

6. Trade/Discipline: Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices)

Minimum 12th pass (but below graduate)

7. Trade/Discipline: Domestic Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders)

Minimum 12th pass (but below graduate). Additionally, candidates should possess a Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator for the training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under the National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Government.

Selection Methodology for IOCL Pipeline Division

  • The selection process would consist of a written test.
  • The written test shall consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) consisting of four options with one correct option. The candidate has to choose the correct option.
  • There shall be 100 questions in the written test, and the total marks shall be 100. Each correct answer shall carry 1 mark.
  • There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The constitution of the question paper will be as below:-
  1. For Technician Apprentices: From the total 100 objective-type questions, about 75 questions shall be from the concerned discipline of diploma level and about 25 questions on general aptitude and reasoning, general English, numerical aptitude, general knowledge, etc.
  2. For trade apprentices (accountants): out of a total of 100 objective-type questions, about 75 will be from general accounts, commerce, or finance and about 25 will be on general aptitude and reasoning, general English, numerical aptitude, general knowledge, etc.
  3. For trade apprentices (assistant-human resource): all 100 objective-type questions shall be on general aptitude and reasoning, general English, numerical aptitude, general knowledge and awareness, etc.
  4. For the Data Entry Operator and Domestic Data Entry Operator: all 100 objective-type questions shall be on general aptitude and reasoning, general English, numerical aptitude, general knowledge and awareness, etc. of the Class 12 level.
  • The duration of the written test shall be 120 minutes, i.e., two hours.
  • Candidates can opt for the question paper or test either in English or Hindi.
  • The minimum qualifying mark in a written test is 40%. The same is relaxed by 5% for SC/ST and PwBD candidates for the trades reserved for them.
  • Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for final selection, as the same is related to the number of positions and relative performance in respective categories.
  • The final selection for the engagement of apprentices will be based on written test marks as per merit. A trade-wise and state-wise merit list for each region shall be prepared based on written test marks scored by the candidates, which shall be arranged in descending order. Candidates, in order of merit, will be offered the apprenticeship.
  • In the case of a tie for the final shortlisting for engagement, the candidate older in age will be given preference in the merit list.

How to Apply for IOCL Pipeline Division Vacancy?

  • Candidates meeting the above-prescribed eligibility criteria should visit our IOCL website, plapps.indianoilpipelines.in, and apply online from January 12, 2024, until February 1, 2024, by 18:00 hours.
  • Paper-based applications will not be accepted.
  • There are two steps to the registration process. Part-I and Part-II. In Part-I registration, the candidate has to fill in his or her basic details, like name, category, etc., and create his or her password. After successful Part-I registration, the system-generated registration number is sent to his registered email ID or SMS. With this registration number, the candidate has to login to the system again with the password he generated. Candidates are advised to remember their registration number and password for future reference or use.
  • In Part II registration, the candidate has to upload his scanned photograph and signature, furnish educational qualifications, experience details, etc., and submit the same. This is the final submission process, and after that, the candidate cannot change the details furnished. Candidates are therefore advised to furnish the details in the portal carefully and check the same before final submission.
