Eligibility Criteria (As per Notification)

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized university established by law in India.
  • Standing in Profession: Minimum of 3 years of practice as an advocate as on the last date of application.
  • Language: Working knowledge of Khasi, Jaintia, or Garo is required (as applicable).
  • Age Limit (as on last date of application):
    • General Category: Not above 35 years.
    • SC / ST: Not above 38 years.

  2. Main Written Examination: Five descriptive papers covering English, General Knowledge, Law Paper I & II, and Local Language (Khasi/Jaintia/Garo). (Marks per paper as per notification.)
  3. Viva-Voce / Interview: 70 marks; assesses personality, communication skills, legal acumen and suitability for judicial service.
