Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship Exam 2022:- The Directorate of Educational Research & Training, DERT Meghalaya, Shillong invites applications from eligible Candidates for National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for Class VIII for the year 2021-2022 which will be held on the 19th March 2022 (SATURDAY) to select 231 students (State Quota allotted by Ministry of Education, New Delhi). The last date for submission of the application is 25.02.2022.

  • No of posts:- 231 (State Quota for Meghalaya)
  • Scholarship:- Selected Candidates will be awarded a Scholarship of Rs. 12,000 per annum by the Ministry of Education and the Selected Candidates will have to apply online through NSP, NMMS Portal.

Who are eligible for Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship Exam 2022?

  1. Students currently studying in Class VIII (Academic Session 2021-2022) in State Government, Government Aided, and Local Body Schools only.
  2. Students should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in the Class VII Promotion Examination.
  3. Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas, Residential Schools run by Central and State Government and students studying in Private Schools are Not Eligible for Scholarship under the Scheme.
  4. Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed 1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand) only.
  5. The Scholarship is provided to the students studying as regular students in Class IX in Government, Government- Aided and Local Body Schools which are renewed till Class XII subject to fulfillment of certain terms and conditions of the Scheme. The awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in Class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) examination or equivalent examination for the continuation of the Scholarship at Higher Secondary Stage.

How to apply for Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship Exam 2022?

  • The Candidates have to submit the Application Form duly filled up in all respect along with the following documents to passport sizes (School uniforms)
  • Report Card (Class VII).
  • SC/ST/ Certificates from Competent Authority
  • Disability Status Certificate from Competent Authority (if any).
  • Parental Income Certificate from Competent Authority.

The Application Form should be submitted to the respective SD SEO only and the Last Date for submission is 25th February 2022.

Information in the Form should be Correct and will be treated as Final. Do not use INITIALS while filling up the Form.

Filled-in Application Forms and the above documents should be submitted to the Sub-Division School Education Officer (SDSEO) concerned and NOT TO DERT.

APPLICATION FORMS WITHOUT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND INCOMPLETE INFORMATION WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.

The exam pattern for Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship Exam 2022 is as follows

  • Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (MAT): 90 Marks
  • Paper-II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) comprising of Science, Social Science & Mathematics: 90 Marks
Qualifying Marks
  • 32% for SC, ST, and PWD and 40% for General Category & OBC separately in both papers.
